Meeting Minutes

 

Board Business –

 

  • Treasurer NRP Balance -                    $12,670.42

Income: $8,957.83

 

  • Crime Prevention Specialist Chelsea Adams and Lt. Hildreth – Complaints of drug dealing at 60th & Penn – 6041.  Undercover, evidence, prostitution and drugs.  54th & Penn – report of prostitution – still working on.  Neighborhood plan – police strategy.  See handout.  #1 concern was to increase traffic enforcement.  While 62 project happens.  Dedicate 2 people per shift on traffic.  Second item was to target prostitution.  Board member, Dan Sweeney acknowledged the efforts of the police dept. on the bust of 6041 Penn.  Empty booze bottles in alleys were called in and reported.  LOCK DOORS!!!!  Possibility of a dedicated traffic officer in our precinct.  Point of concern: crossing on Penn in the morning.  Stealing of recycling – it is against the law.  Use 311.  Group in mayors office working on what can be done with peddlers, possibly licenses.
  • Council Member Hodges – Planning commission for infill housing rules. Lyndale Ave recon., delayed for another year because of traffic issues.  Particularilly the 50th & Lyndale intersection including the bridge over the creek.  35W No award.  Meeting at Richfield Lutheran Church on May 24th at 4:30-7:00.  Café Maude, license considered tomorrow.  Parking and hours are being considered.  NRP funding was considered and funding needs to be discussed.  Public works meeting review and feedback from them regarding Penn ave traffic calming will be sent to us.
  • Friends of the Mississippi - Drain Stenciling Event - June 23rd, Joint neighborhood stenciling event with Kenny and Lynhurst.  Logistics are communicated and then residents go out and do it on that date. 

 

  • Phase II Responsible Driving Program - Yard sign update.  Jennifer Swanson.  In conjuction with 62 Recon.  See attached.  Motion for 750 signs passed.  Going with Tony Dume from Marshall, MN and asking if they have a heavy duty post available.  Motion passes for the sign to read “We live hear, Please slow down.”  Keith Swanson was nominated as the Safety Committee chair and Dan Sweeney, Erik Scheurle and Peggy Rasmussen as committee members.

 

  • Officer positions,  Motion for Tom to be Treasurer.  Motion for Dan B. to be Secretary.  Motion for Peggy as VP.  Motion for Noah to be President.  All motions carried.

 

  • Armatage.org website – Noah Schuchmann.  Active updating of our website.  Ask Dan Sweeney to update our website to help meld it with the South Armatage NA website.  http//armatage1.tripod.com  The board will talk next month about what it will look like.  Dan Sweeney will do a presentation next meeting. 

 

  • Jerry Peterson - Armatage park updates, Pool table announcement, asking the board to donate $$$ to the table.  $1710.00 with all accessories included.  Got it the beginning of March.  $500.00 donation…motion was made and it passed.  Registration for summer programs is this Saturday Arpil, 21st.  Earth Day, April, 21st. 

 

  • Park meeting - Anne and Chris.  13 neighborhoods represented.  Wanting better communication with neighborhoods and Park Boards overlapping comes from park coordinators.  Long term plan is the objective.  Want to do press releases. 

 

  • BP 60th & Penn, 32 year owner, bought BP and remodel.  Turn it into a convenience store.  New pumps.  Cleaning it up immediately and waiting for bids.  Funding available???  Wanting to submit an application for NRP funding.  They will be adding more security.  Precinct open house May 17th, 5-7 pm.
