Hennepin County Commissioner - Gail Dorfman plan for ending homelessness, county-wide smoking ban, stadium passed by a vote of 4-3 (she was opposed), she is on the committee for the ball park and wants it to fit in to the city. She started and is the co-chair on a committee to end homelessness, in 100 days will complete a 10-yr plan prevention is the key. Wants to create a plan for when criminals are discharged from prison. Reconstructing Lyndale Ave. south of Lake St. will start in May of 2007. Wants to merge city and county libraries. Wants to make HCMC a "Public Benefit Corporation".
Inspector Arneson 2% ytd reduction in crime. Focusing on robbery 33rd & Lyndale. 40% of aggravated assaults are domestics. The rest are about drugs and between neighborhood acquaintances. Saw another rise the first part of December in burglary, usually from career criminals. South of 42nd St., 75% of the burglaries show no forced entry. -6100 block of Penn prostitution home or drug house call 911. Review police officer hours and staffing.

City Council Update Adding 1.2 Million to library funding short term fix. Need for more police officers 43 funded. Still wanting to regulate the size of new construction homes and the size of the lot.
Café Maude Brought plans for the public to review. Opening in April.
NRP Proposal was made to have the electors speak at our next meeting.
