City Council Update – Council Member Hodges gave an update. The 35W & Crosstown Commons project is scheduled to start on July 31st pending funding and there will be a meeting July 10th for construction and mitigation. Questions and concerns about public safety during this project can be directed to Jennifer Wiseman at 612-673-2815. The reconstruction of 54th Street between Penn & Upton is making progress and has been recommended to be part of the long term improvement plan. This would be a total reconstruct of 54th St. A suggestion was made to narrow the street and add trees between the sidewalk and street. A restaurant proposal was made to city council for the vacant site at 54th & Penn. The council is considering the liquor license. Residents are encouraged to use the 311 info line if the have questions for the city. Feedback for police chief search can also be sent to the 311 info line. A planning and zoning meeting will be held in late June to discuss demolition & rebuilding houses and how it affects neighborhood characteristics.

CPED – Amanda Arnold – Her position as a long range planner is to guide development for the Southwest sector is bordered by Franklin Ave on the north to Hwy 62 on the south and France Ave on the west to 35W on the east. Responses to questions regarding antennae and condo development were given and if there was going to be condo development in the area the only likely location suggested may be the 50th & Penn area - no one has stepped forward and expressed interest in redeveloping this area.

Conflict of Interest Forms – Passed out to board members and collected after the meeting was adjourned.

Summer Festival – Katie Murphy gave the updated. Food will be supplied by Cub Foods free of charge – food may include but is not limited to: hot dogs, chips, pop, and ice cream. There will be games, silent auction, a "jumper/moon walk" and other activities. She is still searching for sponsors for the event. The following expenditures were approved: A Dixie Land Band will be hired for $480.00. Letter for the silent auction will be sent out at the cost of ~$300.00 to about 500 businesses. A request for volunteers was made. Flyers will be mailed out ~$1125.00+ (postage increase). Flyers will also be handed out to children enrolled in Montessori including students that attend from outside of the district. Tents were mentioned to attract more attention to the festival.

Armatage Park Update – Park Director Jerry Peterson shared park activity information. There is no new information regarding the computer. All seven ball fields are up and running. Some lighting issues for the fields still need to be worked out. Any cooperation from residents would be appreciated. A new stove and some new benches have been ordered. Parking has been added at the tennis courts and it was suggested that a trash can be supplied to the area also. A diaper changing station will be added to the community center.

Issues mentioned at the meeting intended for Council member Hodges -

Bank Change Date – The neighborhood association will be changing banks and this will be done on June 10th at 9:00 AM. US Bank located in the area of 50th & France will be the new bank. Peggy Rasmussen, Denis Houle, Jennifer Swanson, Noah Schuchman and Daniel Beskar met at the bank and signed all pertinent documents.

A motion to adjourn the meeting unanimously passed.

Respectfully submitted,
