Forced entry property crimes 

June 6  Between 7:45 a.m. and 7 p.m., an unknown suspect broke a window and damaged a screen at a home on the 5300 block of Humboldt in Lynnhurst while attempting to gain entry.  The window was locked.  The suspect did not enter the house.

June 7  Between 6:15 and 9 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a briefcase containing an iPad 2 and other items from the back seat of a vehicle which was parked in the lot at In Season Restaurant, 5416 Penn Ave in Armatage.

June 9  Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the driver's side window of a vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 4900 block of Oliver in Lynnhurst and took a GPS unit.

June 11  Between 6:50 and 8:45 p.m., an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked on the 2600 block of West 44th St in Linden Hills and took a purse from the front seat.

June 17  Between 2 and 10 a.m., an unknown suspect pushed in the screen of an open window on the ground level of a home on the 4800 block of East Lake Harriet Parkway in Lynnhurst, entered the home, and took unlisted items.

June 19  Between 6:00 and 6:20 p.m., an unknown suspect took unlisted item(s) from a vehicle parked at West Lake Harriet Parkway & Russell Ave.

June 21  Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the driver's side window of a vehicle which was parked in front of a home on the 4500 block of Xerxes in Linden Hills.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

June 22  Between 5 p.m. June 22 and 10:15 a.m. June 23, an unknown suspect broke out the rear window of a vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5300 block of Knox in Lynnhurst.  No entry was made to the vehicle.

June 27  Between 1:00 and 2:45 p.m., an unknown suspect pried open a bedroom window of a home on the 5500 block of James in Kenny, entered the home, and took unlisted item(s).

July 2  Between July 2 and 5, an unknown suspect attempted to enter a home on the 5200 block of Girard in Lynnhurst through a first floor window.  No entry was made.

July 3  Between 4:00 and 7:15 p.m., an unknown suspect broke out the front driver's side window of a vehicle pakred at 42nd & Queen in Linden Hills and took a purse from under the front passenger seat.

July 8  Between July 8 and 10, a home on the 5200 block of James in Lynnhurst was burglarized.

Unsecured property

June 11  Between 11 a.m. and noon, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5100 block of Washburn and took a bike.  A resident was working in the yard and the overhead garage door was open.

June 20  Between July 20 and 27, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 6000 block of Thomas in Armatage through an unlocked door and took a bike.

June 22  Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked at an address on the 5100 block of Queen and rummaged through it.  No loss was reported.

June 27  Between 1 and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bag of aluminum tent poles valued at $1,500 from the driveway of a home on the 5600 block of Fremont in Kenny.  A resident had rented a tent and left the bag outside, next to the garage.

June 28  Between 2:00 and 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an occupied home on the 4800 block of West Lake Harriet Parkway and took personal items.  There were no signs of forced entry.

July 5  Between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m., a home on the 6000 block of Logan in Kenny was burglarized.  There was no sign of forced entry.

July 7  Between midnight and 6:15 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a home on the 1800 block of West 49th St in Lynnhurst through an unlocked first floor window and took two laptop computers, a briefcase, and $1,200 cash.  The screen which was removed from the window was recovered in a garbage can in the alley.  A bike was found in the bushes behind the house.

July 7  Between 5 p.m. July 7 and 1 p.m. July 8, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5800 block of Sheridan in Armatage through an unlocked door and took two bikes.

 

Other incidents 

June 7  At about 1:40 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 23-year-old Meaghan Margaret Bierschenk of Waynesville, MO, and 21-year-old Jason Peterson Fabus of Wauwatosa, WI, for possession of liquor in a park.

June 7  At about 2:30 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 25-year-old Christopher Briseno of Blaine and 22-year-old Christopher Joel Burda of Coon Rapids for possession of liquor in a park.

June 7  At about 3:25 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 22-year-old David Jeffrey Lundquist of Brooklyn Park and Donald Alexander Schonning of Richfield for possession of liquor in a park.

June 7  At about 10:30 p.m., a male suspect knocked on the front door of a residence on the 6000 block of Penn in Armatage and asked to use the phone.  A resident refused to answer the door and yelled at the suspect through a living room window.  The suspect kept knocking at the door, and the resident threatened to call police.  The suspect broke a one-foot square window in the door with his hand.  The suspect then left and went northbound on Penn Ave.  The resident thinks that the suspect was intoxicated.

June 8  At about 2:15 a.m., police found five persons at Lake Calhoun Parkway near Upton Ave in the park after hours.  The people had been swimming in the lake.  19-year-old Aspen Burns of New Brighton, 18-year-old Julianna Rose Grandbois of St Louis Park, 21-year-old Eugene Talatala of 5219 James Ave North, 18-year-old Tenzin Tsephel of Plymouth, and 20-year-old Mary Vue of 2609 2nd St NE were cited for consuming alcohol in public.

June 10  At about 1:40 p.m., police stopped a vehicle at 38th & Upton in Linden Hills for failing to stop at a Stop sign.  The driver was uncooperative, failed to produce i.d., and refused to get out of the vehicle.  38-year-old Paulino Fermino Boza Penafiel of 2925 5th Ave South was arrested for obstructing the legal process and driving with a revoked license.

June 11  At about 2:15 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 25-year-old Andrew Donald Arola of 3145 Dupont Ave South for possession of liquor in a park.

June 14  At about 12:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to 40th & Abbott in Linden Hills regarding two males prowling the area.  26-year-old Zameer Rahamat of Edina and 23-year-old John Michael Love (no address given) were arrested for lurking with intent to commit a crime.  A witness made a citizen's arrest.

June 21  At about 5:35 p.m., police executed a forced entry search warrant at 5516 Emerson Ave in Kenny.  44-year-old Deborah Michelle Hitt was arrested for a felony narcotics violation.

June 21  At about 6:45 p.m., officers arriving at Armatage Park, 2501 West 56th St, smelled the odor of marijuana.  18-year-old Jordan Douglas Klein of 5101 Beard Ave South and 18-year-old Jacob Forest Robbs of 5748 Morgan Ave South were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a petty misdemeanor narcotics violation for possession of a small amount of marijuana.  A 16-year-old male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 29  At about 10:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at 42nd & Upton in Linden Hills.  A passenger in the vehicle, 44-year-old Tamala Elizabeth Finn of Fergus Falls, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Ottertail County.  Finn has two prior convictions in Minnesota for theft.

July 1  At about 5:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to an assault at 58th & Bryant in Kenny.  Officers found the victim, who had minor facial injuries, sitting on the ground.  The victim stated that he was in a fight with three suspects unknown to him.  The victim refused medical attention.

July 3  At about 1:40 a.m., firefighters responded to fires at two adjacent garages on the 5600 block of Dupont in Kenny.  An investigator subsequently determined that both incidents were arson.  There were three other arson incidents reported about a half hour later at garages on the 5700 and 5800 blocks of Pleasant Ave.  Preliminary damage estimates exceed $35,000.

July 4  At about 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a silent alarm at Anthony Middle School, 5757 Irving Ave in Kenny, and saw three males exiting the school. 18-year-old Sean Leonard Dyer of 5417 James Ave South and 18-year-old James Cameron Manne-Nicholas of 5329 Humboldt Ave South were arrested for burglary.  A juvenile male was released to a family member.

July 4  At about 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a complaint about a suspicious male taking photos of females against their wishes on the 4200 block of West Lake Harriet Parkway in Linden Hills.  Officers arrested 48-year-old Anthony John Geer of 5301 Chicago Ave for a misdemeanor warrant out of Minneapolis for driving an uninsured vehicle with no driver's license and a misdemeanor warrant out of Minnetonka for driving without a valid license.

July 6  At about 7:55 p.m., officers saw a suspect in the parking lot at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, drinking a bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade.  26-year-old Ray Charles Allison of 5233 Washburn Ave North was cited for possession of liquor in a park.

July 7  At about 5:30 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 24-year-old Adam Alexander Rivkin of Hopkins for possession of liquor in a park.

July 9  At about 3:20 p.m., police at 3700 Thomas Ave, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, cited 26-year-old James Joseph Colvin of Apple Valley and 26-year-old Adam Harm Decknatel of Apple Valley for possession of liquor in a park.
