|When you attend the ANA general meetings on the third Tuesday of the month, you are working together with your neighbors to form a powerful force for neighborhood stability and planned change.|
The ANA also has open committees for residents to participate in and bring the new Community Participation strategies to life. Whether you are new to the neighborhood or have lived here for many years, now is a great time to get involved!
Here are the committee opportunities:
The safety committee would assist with the planning and implementation of the following programs:
* Increase neighborhood safety - work with existing city programs or create new neighborhood programs to provide information, training, and equipment to promote both public and personal safety.
* Increase the level of traffic safety on neighborhood streets and alleys - Implement a program to encourage responsible driving in our neighborhood.
* Increase communication between neighbors on blocks and between blocks and the ANA.

Block leaders are essential to building a great neighborhood community and keeping crime rates down. Commitment as a block leader is minimal yet you gain so much. To be a block leader, you only need attend a two-hour training meeting and be willing to organize a couple gatherings for neighbors on your block during the year. Contact our local CCP/Safe Team member at 612.673.2815.
The Events Committee would plan and implement neighborhood events in order to increase community identity through awareness of, and participation in, community events.
