Julie Scherber

Nominated by: Lisa Wilde

Armatage School parent, Julie Scherber has done an amazing job creating several different garden areas complete with paths/walkways surrounded by shrubs, trees, and plants that bloom all season long. The garden stones created by kids are great! Julie appears to work tirelessly on the Armatage School gardens (many times late into the evening and on weekends, after working in her own home garden) just for the pleasure of it. It is a glorious work-in-progress that I enjoy visiting regularly to see what's blooming and what has recently been added.  She is definitely an asset to Armatage, and truly one of our "gems!"

Cheryl Anderson

Nominated by:Sue Jacobson

Cheryl is a humble artist. She is probably the finest artist I have ever seen. She does mosaics and oil paintings. She is a 'listed' artist in Minnesota. Her kitchen back splash is done in mosaics that is the most unusual and beautiful thing I have ever seen. And her deep space paintings are not to be missed. She is just the most incredible artist I have ever seen. She is also kind, and a great neighbor. She has a beautiful garden and home.

The ANA is fortunate to have a talented neighbor like Cheryl.

Thanks Cheryl.

Brian Ciccone

Nominated by: Jen Swanson

Brian, his wife Brenda and their two dogs have lived in the Armatage neighborhood for six years. They live on a block with a lot of young kids and have always been generous with their donations to the National Night Out block party and with special candy on Halloween.

Brian and Brenda met with the ANA a few years ago to discuss a variance for their garage. Brian mentioned that he would be happy to help get food for neighborhood events. For the last four years, Brian has donated and delivered all the hot dogs, buns and chips to the Armatage Summer Festival.

This year, Brian worked with board member Tom Alagna on the classic car show, new to this year’s Summer Festival. The ANA hopes to make the car show part of every Summer Festival, with residents like Brian and Brenda showing their fantastic cars.

The Armatage neighborhood is a better place with an involved and generous resident like Brian.

Thanks Brian!

Lisa Domagala

Nominated by:Tina Erazmus

Lisa, her husband Dan and their two children have lived in the Armatage neighborhood for 11 years. Lisa is a professional graphic designer who generously donates her time and expertise to the Armatage neighborhood.

Four years ago, the ANA board sought to update the Armatage logo. Lisa created several logo designs for the board to choose from. The bright green tree logo that the board chose is now used on all ANA materials (including this newsletter) and can be found throughout the neighborhood on boundary and identification signs. Lisa also created the logo for the annual Armatage Summer Festival. Every year, she creates and prints all the signage for the festival as well as the 250 letters that are mailed to businesses to solicit silent auction donations.

The ANA is fortunate to have a talented professional like Lisa so generously donate her design skills.

Thanks Lisa!
